Robert is a corporate and commercial lawyer with more than 40 years advising businesses, founders, investors, family offices and management teams. His work spans M&A, private equity and venture capital, shareholder arrangements, commercial contracts, IP and IT agreements, media transactions, corporate structuring, and bet-the-company disputes and arbitration.
He is known for thinking creatively around difficult problems and developing practical, sometimes novel, solutions that help clients achieve their commercial objectives.
He has advised clients across technology, telecoms, healthcare, retail, mining, media, financial services and family businesses, with substantial international experience involving the UK, United States, Europe, the Middle East, Africa, India and the CIS — often alongside overseas counsel.
Before founding Wieder Law, Robert was a partner in major international and City firms, and has held non-executive and company secretary roles. Clients value his senior judgment, commercial common sense and clear advice on what matters, what can be negotiated and how legal choices affect the business.
